Today, we will be concentrating on the post production of your short film.

  1. Read the Script - (or Listen 🎧 ).
  2. Mark up the Script -  Highlight with any Post Production elements that you may need to source or delegate to others - Music, Visual Effects (VFX) Sound Effects (SFX).
  3. Post Production Plan Schedule - This could be a simple as the dates on a piece of paper, an Excel/Word document, or a collaborative solutions like Studiobinder/Basecamp/Trello.
  4. Prep all elements of post production for the film before production starts - so you are ready for your first Dailies from set. (Mise en place - is a French term for having all your ingredients measured, cut, peeled, sliced, grated, etc. before you start cooking!)
  5. Run a camera test to make sure the edit will run smoothly and there won’t be any major surprises with the footage or workflow along the way.
